Ava had her 4 month check-up yesterday and now I hate yet another doctor! I had several things to discuss with him, but as soon as her growth was charted all my concerns were dead in the water. (Forget that she's met all her milestones and the doctor himself said she looked very healthy)
Her stats:
length: 23 1/4 in. (20%tile)
head circ: 15 1/2 in. (15%tile)
weight: 9lbs. 5 oz. (somewhere far below the bottom of the growth chart)
Now we get to spend the next month until she sees the doctor again obsessing how to make her gain weight. He would like to see her hugging the bottom of the growth curve again. Well I looked that up and that's about 3 1/2 pounds in the next month! Good luck with that! ( she's only gained 3 since she was born) Someone please tell me they've had a smaller healthy child. It will make me feel so much better!
Now for proof that we know how to make fat babies. Check out bubba on the right. Now that is one cute little chub!

She is one LITTLE girl! Sorry, I can't reassure you, but we just don't make small babies. They come out roughly the size of orca whales.
I can reassure you by saying, if everything's normal and she IS gaining weight, don't worry about curves. Doctors just want everyone to be average so they can point to charts and avoid malpractice suits.

U can def make some lil chubbos! Rod and I love how Ethan is totally intrigued by that cupcake...soo cute! My gf Jenn has a baby born about a week before Ava and she's only 9lbs too...so ur not alone my friend!
Brin is only in the 3rd percentile! they just say, well, you're petite so I guess it's just how she is. that means 93% of kids her age are bigger than her, she'll probably chunk up when you add solids
